How does Appearex® work?
The pharmaceutical grade biotin in Appearex® stimulates epidermal cells and affects the protein structure called keratin found in skin, nails, and hair. Biotin is directly involved in the production of keratin cells and can increase the quantity of keratin-matrix proteins in the nail.
What is biotin?
Biotin is a vitamin, specifically a member of the B-complex family of vitamins. It is commonly found in the foods you eat every day, though not at the levels needed to impact nail quality.

What causes brittle nails?
Brittle nails can be caused by a variety of factors. Trauma to the nail bed, repeated exposure to water and detergents and excessive use of solvents, such as nail polish remover, are some of the environmental stresses that can compromise healthy fingernails. What kind of results can I expect with Appearex®?
Studies have shown that the 2.5 mg of biotin in Appearex® can increase nail strength, reduce nail breakage, and improve nail structure. In one study, 91% of individuals with brittle nails experienced improvement after 5 months of taking 2.5 mg of biotin daily. Improved nail quality was reported as firmer, harder nails that were less likely to crack or chip.
How long must I take Appearex® to see results?
Many topical treatments and temporary fixes only disguise your nails. Appearex® actually changes them. Taking Appearex® once a day can improve your nail strength and quality in as little as 3 to 6 months. Remember, these results are not permanent if you discontinue use.
Will the results last if I stop taking Appearex®?
Probably not. Because Appearex® is intended for daily use, you should continue to use it as directed to maintain stronger, healthier nails. If you discontinue use of Appearex®, your nails can take 6 to 9 months to grow out from base to tip and may become unhealthy and brittle again.
Can Appearex® be taken with medications?
Appearex® is a dietary vitamin supplement that changes the structure of your nails from the inside out. As with any other therapy, be sure to consult your physician when adding Appearex® to your daily medication regimen. Remember that some drugs, including antibiotics and anticonvulsants, can reduce biotin absorption and may interfere with Appearex® therapy.
How does Appearex® compare with other nail therapies?
Most other products offer only a cosmetic fix for weak and brittle nails. They simply disguise the problem rather than treat it. Unlike these other nail treatments, Appearex® transforms your natural nails from the inside out.
